Philadelphia filmmaker Mike Dennis Curator and co-host of Reelblack Presents has had his work screened nationwide: the Starz Denver Pan African Film Festival, the Hip Hop Film Festival, the SE Manly Short Film Festival in Los Angeles and he was awarded the “Emerging Filmmaker award” at the North Carolina Cine Noir Festival. As an African American and an independent filmmaker, Mike Dennis saw the the need to provide a venue for filmmakers to showcase their works. Reelblack Presents, a monthly film screening series, is such a venue.

When a broken hearted teacher, Fred Hansen (Eden Marryshow), meet his student’s aunt, Erica Clark (Sara Pickett), their lives are in recent upheaval. Erica is dealing with her new full time job as mom to her niece Lora (Melinda Myrie). Fred is struggling to discover who he is after a break up with his overbearing fiancĂ© who forces him to question what he really wants out of life. Their overwhelming commonalities and a little prodding from Lora allow the pair to engage in an instant and wonderful romance. Troubles arise, however, when Fred’s ex- fiancĂ© re-enters the picture. Fred is forced to make a choice between the two but does he know what that thing called love truly is? Written, Directed and Starring Eden Marryshow.
